| Here is an interesting wapo article on this historic bridge very close to my house. Its kinda interesting and worth reading. | | |
| Thy mercy my God is the theme of my song, The joy of my heart, and the boast of my tongue. Thy free grace alone, from the first to the last, Hath won my affection and bound my soul fast. Without Thy sweet mercy, I could not live here. Sin would reduce me to utter despair, But through Thy free goodness, my spirit's revived And He that first made me still keeps me alive. Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart, Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart. Dissolved by Thy goodness, I fall to the ground And weep for the praise of the mercy I've found. Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own In the covenant love of Thy crucified Son. All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine.

| Next spring at the end of the school year, I am going to Europe!!!! Drs. Schaefer and Bibza are leading a 16 day "Revisiting the Reformation 2008" tour, and we will be going to England, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. I have really wanted to go to Europe for a while now (especially England), so I am excited about this working out. Does anyone read this anymore? | | |
| So its a really scary thought that in a little over than a month my TWIN BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED! I really don't know what to do about it, its just gonna be kinda freaky. I have had lots of friends whose brother/sister have gotten married, but I don't know anyone whose twin has gotten married, so, I guess I'm on my own. Also, since we are twins, it seems like I have to throw an extra amazing bachelor party for Josh... While I'm posting, I gotta go ahead in put in a plug for the Rev. Charles Biggs, my pastor. He just finished an excellent series on Galatians, and his sermon last sunday was great. He really emphasized counting everything loss save the cross of Christ and called out the "seeker sensitive" movement in churches for what it is: sin. If the church forsakes preaching the truth of the gospel and properly administering the sacraments for a "relevant" message, then the church has lost its biblical mission and we will not hear the Christ speaking to his church though the means of grace. As my pastor at school would say, "if we [the church] lose the gospel of grace alone through faith alone, we have lost everything." While I am on this subject, I have to also really encourage you to listen to Pastor Biggs' sermon on biblical worship from Exodus 32-34. Believe me, I am not really one to listen to audio sermons very often, but this is fantastic. I don't know how I could emphasize it anymore! Listen to it. | | |
| So I guess its time for a real update... I'm going to actually somewhat try and keep up with this for the summer. My year at school was great, I made a bunch of greats friends, did fairly well acedemically, and most of all HAD A GREAT TIME!!! (I know this makes my mom cringe!) Political Science is the greatest major ever, and I really enjoy studying it. This summer I am interning again at the Office of the Secretary of the Interior working for his communications director. Its shaping up to be a good summer! | | |
